Meila Davis Sports Scholarship
Congratulations to Luse Talei who at the end of last year won the Meila Davis Memorial Sports Scholarship. Luse Talei shows commitment to her sport, resilience through challenges, and a genuine love of being active and involved. We have no doubt she is just getting started and look forward to following her sporting journeys in the years ahead.
The Meila Davis Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Meila, who was the beloved daughter of Kristin Davis and the Davis and Gibbons family.
Meila loved being involved in sport and being part of a team, and her energy and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Through this scholarship, her name continues to live on — supporting and encouraging the next generation of young athletes.
Thank you to Ray White Kemeys Brothers in Lower Hutt for this opportunity.

Year 7 & 8 Player Development Programme
NHV deliver the PDP programme through skill sessions and festival days. These sessions are open to any year 7 or 8 players engaged in the Hutt Valley schools netball competitions.
This programme is delivered in the age & stage approach focusing on developing skillsets, court awareness and safe & effective movement. Participants must be good listeners, happy to work with other people from different schools and be willing to give things a go and take on board feedback from coaches.
Growth and development happens at all ages and stages of the players participation in netball. Engagement at this age is not a future indicator for success in netball. This programme is designed to support the players fundamental movements and skillsets to prepare them for the next step in their journey.
Coaches will guide players to execute skills such as turning on the ball, passing into space, body balance, footwork, spatial awareness and movement through court. The programme will introduce game strategies: centre pass, circle rotation and through court principles. Players will also be engaged in age appropriate strength & conditioning focusing on single leg balance, and the ability to take off and land in a safe and effective way.
Year 8 Programme runs from Friday 6 March -Sunday 19 April
Year 7 Programme runs from Sunday 3 May - Sunday 7 June
The cost for this programme is $50 payable directly to Netball Hutt Valley and is payable when you register.
