Kia ora koutou,
It's an exciting time at Hutt Intermediate as the term comes to an end.
Tonight, our Kapa Haka and Poly groups take the stage at HuttFest, and we couldn’t be prouder. They've been practicing hard and are looking polished and powerful. This year we have had great support from our whānau in putting the performances together and it has made a huge difference. We wish them all the best this evening - ngā mihi nui!
Last week, we came together to mark Matariki with a special celebration and breakfast. It was a wonderful time to reflect, remember, and reset — honouring the past while looking forward to the year ahead. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a meaningful event, we look forward to it becoming part of our annual calendar. You can read more about our Matariki breakfast later in the newsletter.
Our Waiata Competition was another real highlight — it was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, pride, and teamwork on display from our House groups. A big thank you to staff and students for the energy you brought to this special event and congratulations to Bracken who were the winners on the day.
In Week 1 next term we will be having a parent information evening to outline the content of our Navigating the Journey health unit and to consult on the health programmes offered at Hutt Intermediate. This will take place from 5:30-6:30 pm on Tuesday 15 July in our school library. Class teachers will also share information on the content being covered each week in their classes and you will be able to contribute to the consultation via a Google Form if you are unable to make the meeting.
Finally, we have updated our Team News pages on the school website to make it easier for whānau to share in the learning happening across the school. Please take a moment to check them out if you haven’t already.
We hope that the weather is kind to us all during the term break and that everyone manages to find time to rest and recharge ready for another busy term ahead.
Ngā mihi nui
Mike, Catriona and Tracey
