Term 3 is already off to a flying start! There is plenty happening here at school. 

We finished last term on a high with our amazing Hutt Fest performance. This year we had our largest ever group with over 130 students performing. Our Kapahaka and Poly groups practised long and hard along with their kaiako and the final results were a credit to them all. A huge thank you to both groups and all those who supported them behind the scenes—your mahi was outstanding and made us all very proud. Thanks to Mr Bowkett, Ms. Richards and Mrs Andrews for all your work in coordinating the event for our school.

This week we held our Navigating the Journey parent information evening on Tuesday.  Parents were given an overview of our programme and the important content around identity, relationships, and decision-making. This information has also been emailed to the community.

Every two years the Hutt Intermediate School Board is required to consult with the parent community about our school's health programmes. The purpose of this consultation is to inform the school community of the programmes currently being offered, to seek feedback, and to ensure our programmes continue to meet the needs of our students. Below is a link to a Google Form to share your feedback. Please take some time to read the email and complete the form. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to be holding Hutt’s Got Talent next Wednesday at 7.00pm in the hall. This promises to be a real highlight in the school calendar. We encourage whānau to come along and support our tamariki as they showcase their many talents.

A reminder that Whānau Conferences are coming up in Week 4. These are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, discuss their progress, and work together to support their learning journey. Booking information will be sent out soon.

Our school Board triennial election takes place in September this year with Election Day on Monday 8 September.

On Wednesday 23rd July we have 4 teams attending the WRISSA Netball Tournament at Akau Tangi Sports Centre in Kilbirnie. They will need to meet in H6 at 7:50am, ready to leave by 8am

As part of our sports programme in Term 3 Hutt Intermediate are running a community sports programme to enhance student enthusiasm and to maximise the use of community sports resources both onsite at Hutt Intermediate and out and about in our local community. This is compulsory for all students to participate in. 

An email has been sent out via school links with a list of the activities that students will be able to choose from and costs associated with each activity. The cost is for the whole 5 weeks. Please read through these and think about your child/ren’s first 3 choices. 

Complete the google form with your child’s choices. Please complete one form per child. The google form needs to be completed by Friday 25th July.

THE SCHOOL DAY 

The School day commences at 8:55am and finishes at 3:00pm. Punctuality is important. Students are required to bring their PE gear to school every day. 

ABSENCE OR LATE FOR SCHOOL PHONE LINE  

Please remember to notify school before 9:00am if your child will not be at school for all or part of the day. You can do this via our website or by calling our absence line PH: 570 3101. This reduces the lengthy process of contacting you to check on absences. We use an electronic absence notification system, which means you will be initially contacted via text message and/or email when your child is away and no notification has been received. 

Students arriving late for school must sign in using Vistab on arrival before going to class. This is located at the main office.
